New Product Features for Cinegy at NAB 2010

MUNICH—Cinegy (www.cinegy.com), a developer of world-leading workflow, asset management and OEM solutions for the broadcast and post production industries, is pleased to announce the new developments that will be shown at NAB 2010.

Cinegy with be giving demos of the entire Cinegy Workflow including the following highlights.

New look Cinegy - The Cinegy Workflow suite of products has had a makeover. Still following the same intuitive Windows metaphor, the Cinegy user interface has been improved and modernized to make the production workspace easier to manage with more options for customization.

Useful features – A new way to import content in from file-based systems (P2, XDCAM) has been added to Cinegy Ingest, allowing quicker capture from media along with proxy and web generation. Within Cinegy Desktop, the timeline has been enhanced to allow more of a craft-edit experience, with more video and audio tracks and some simple effects. Additionally search has been augmented, with a new user-friendly query designer and search-term highlighting in the results view.

The brand new Cinegy Cinecoder H.264 engine has been integrated into Cinegy Convert and Cinegy Desktop, now providing the best quality software MP4 output at the greatest speed, all fully compliant with the most popular devices (such as the iPhone or PSP) as well as Flash and Silverlight.

Media asset management - The archive lies at the heart of any digital workflow, so Cinegy is dedicated to constantly improving the Cinegy Archive database for media asset management. The latest version offers enhanced support for scaling through multi-database support as well as documented and supported web-capable APIs for easier integration into other enterprise systems or customer portals.

Character Generation - Cinegy’s CG templating in Cinegy Air includes new effects and features for text objects, allowing for better-looking and more creative output. Drag-and-drop makes it simple to use and easy to create templates for often repeated tasks – drag your organizations approved graphics straps to your item, enter some details and it’s ready to use.

Cinegy-on-the-go - Cinegy’s remote web access product, Cinegy Cineweb has been re-developed using all new technology based on Microsoft’s Silverlight. Using the latest web advances Cinegy now offers a ‘premium’ platform for users on Windows as well as Mac. With a new look, improved media handling, and new performance, Cinegy Cineweb can transform a digital production system into a modern mobile workflow.

The Virtual TV Station Presentation by Jan Weigner "Shared Services for Television" 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
Cinegy Managing Director, Jan Weigner will be presenting a paper about how the latest digital broadcast technologies can enable the creation of “Virtual TV Stations” and how this can be done as a hosted service. A common IT infrastructure for broadcast operations brings with it the new concept of a “Virtual TV Station”, where broadcast operations can be provided as a hosted, central service with signal delivery via IP. This presentation will address some of the challenges of this approach along with the advantages and new possibilities, before finishing with a comparison of financial models.

Cinegy will also be giving a sneak peak at what will be coming soon in Cinegy Version 9.
