10 November 2010, MOSCOW— Cinegy will be participating at the NATEXPO show in Moscow this month. The international exhibition of professional equipment and technologies for television, radio, internet broadcasting and film production will be held from 16th to 19th November 2010 at the All-Russia Exhibition Center, Pavilion № 75.
Cinegy will be demonstrating their latest solutions - Cinegy Type, Cinegy Workspace and Cinegy Air Express, first introduced with great success earlier this year at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam.  You will find Cinegy on the Matrix Engineering Group booth, B52.

Introducing Cinegy Type – CG and channel branding for Cinegy Air playout
Cinegy’s new character generation module Cinegy Type, is a new add-on for Cinegy’s Air product family. From simple ticker tapes and lower thirds to multi-layer character animations Cinegy Type includes a whole range of advanced effects and features.  The new module addresses simple requirements such as logo insertion right through to complex branding with picture in picture and background squeeze.

The Cinegy Type template editor allows the prefabrication of templates that can then be triggered by Cinegy Air automation with the variable parts of the templates being automatically updated. The approved template design is created once and then re-used with minimal effort. The combination of Cinegy Air with Cinegy Type allows placement of two channels of HD playout with CG, branding, HD SDI and/or RTP/UDP  output into a single 1RU server which translates into 84 complete HD playout channels in a single 42RU rack. Even higher density can be achieved using server blades.

Cinegy Workspace - Access Your Media Anywhere
The latest version of Cinegy’s media asset management and production workflow solution Cinegy Archive introduces a new and simple way to extend the ways of working with your media assets beyond the confines of the office.  This is not just another web interface that may look nice but when it comes to really doing something with it is utterly useless. Cinegy Workspace combines the benefits of being installation-free and web browser-based with the amenities of a real application. This is achieved by using Microsoft’s latest Silverlight technologies that run equally using Mac OS or Windows, using Internet Explorer, Firefox or other browsers. This allows creating a user experience that feels like a “proper” application offering drag & drop, tabbed windows, frame-accurate media playback as well as swift operation. The Cinegy Workspace app is modular in nature and can be extended in functionality.

As a result Cinegy Workspace empowers media production teams to collaborate on projects wherever they are – in the office, at home or on the road. Changes are visible immediately allowing real-time collaboration. For more advanced operations such as advanced SD or HD timeline editing, tape or live SDI ingest, and XDCAM or P2 import, the Cinegy Desktop application is still the best choice.

Cinegy Archive as the underlying central media asset management solution supports multi-proxy quality workflows, which allows members of the same team to work on the same project using different quality video with the changes being transparently reflected immediately regardless which quality is being used by who to look at the project. No re-linking or re-batching of media is required. Changes made to a project  from a team member on the road using the Workspace client are immediately reflected in the Cinegy Desktop application and vice versa. Granular access rights control, flexible metadata models, advanced user management and integration with existing enterprise IT solutions (Active Directory / LDAP) allow simple and secure management even of large user bases.

Cinegy Air Express - Affordable Playout and Broadcast Automation
IBC 2010 saw the official launch of Cinegy Air Express for the European market. Cinegy’s latest playout server and automation software is changing the broadcast space by slashing a digit or two of what would be the normal going rate for a comparable solution while offering more features. Cinegy Air Express is now available in Russia!
Cinegy Air Express is based on the existing, proven Cinegy Air product range that is already powering hundreds of TV channels around the globe. Cinegy Air Express aims at smaller TV stations, studio production environments, and also at new markets such as IPTV, info channels, hotel TV, education and digital signage solutions.

Cinegy Air Express, with a starting price of 795€, includes a fully featured broadcast automation software suite with broadcast playout server software, for the first time making a Channel in a Box truly affordable for everyone. There is no other solution more capable, or comparable in terms of the number of features available for this price. The features offered at this price make many solutions, costing multiple times more, look underpowered and antiquated.

Cinegy Air Express comes with features such as logo insertion, remote operation capability, studio playback mode, Internet streaming, and RTPUDP streaming. Different format codecs and aspect ratios can be mixed in a playlist back to back. The studio playback mode enables the use of slow motion, multi-speed forward and reverse playback, bounce and loop playback. In studio mode the playback can be controlled by keyboard, mouse, and jog & shuttle devices from vendors such as JL Cooper, DNF and others.

For 1495€ Cinegy Air Express HD provides a fully equipped HD solution including features such as SD  HD simulcast, support for formats such as MPEG2, H.264, XDCAM HD, AVC-Intra, AVID DNxHD, MXF-AS03, and many more.

Cinegy Air Express is a software solution that turns any Intel or AMD based Windows PC or server into a broadcast playout server. The Cinegy Air control component, for managing playout and automation, can be run on the same machine running  the Cinegy Air playout server component.  Alternatively, it can reside on any other machine connected to the playout server via an IP connection (Ethernet, WLAN, WAN). This facilitates remote operation of the playout server. For SDI playout, various popular cards from multiple vendors such as AJA, BlackMagic, DVS and others are supported. For those who want to broadcast via the Internet or create MPEG transport streams to directly feed into ATSC or DVB workflows, this is also possible without requiring additional software or hardware.

Virtual TV Station - New Model of IT-Based Television Company
Cinegy Regional Manager for Russia and CIS countries, Igor Petrov will be presenting a paper about how the latest digital broadcast technologies can enable the creation of “Virtual TV Stations” and how this can be performed as a hosted service. A common IT infrastructure for broadcast operations brings with it the new concept of a “Virtual TV Station”, where broadcast operations can be provided as a hosted, central service with signal delivery via IP. This presentation will address some of the challenges of this approach along with the advantages and new possibilities, before finishing with a comparison of financial models.

This presentation will take place November 16th at 3:40pm, booth C34 (seminar zone).
