Munich, May 12th 2011 - After last year’s success with the first Cinegy project in Sweden at Västmanlands Television (VMTV), Cinegy’s Swedish-based partner Veritas Produktion have further expanded the playout system with the addition of Cinegy’s branding and CG module Cinegy Type. Västmanlands Television (VMTV), owned by UNC, United Cameras Television, provides a regional channel delivering local news in the Western Mälardalen region in Sweden. With over 50,000 potential viewers per day, and a wealth of current local events and news on air, VMTV is among the largest media channels on the local market. Cinegy Air was chosen last year due to its merits as a playout solution, and because it is flexibility and scalability. This has been demonstrated recently with the easy implementation of further Cinegy software to enhance and expand their playout system. |

Cinegy Type enables the addition of multiple layers of automation controlled, template based titles, logos, animated graphics, and more. From simple ticker tapes and lower thirds to multi-layer character animations, Cinegy Type includes a whole range of advanced effects and features. This module addresses simple requirements such as logo insertion, right through to complex branding with templated information and animated video plates. The Cinegy Type template builder and title designer allows you to build creative templates offline with all the effects and features required to make professional templates quickly and easily. VMTV now use Cinegy Type for all their text-based news that runs in between programs. This is performed using an automated template, the reporters simply update this fields themselves directly in the "Type Template Edit Computer", placed at the news desk. Eventually this tool will be extended further by allowing the content to come in from automatic content feeds such as RSS, making the process even more efficient. Anders Höög, Managing Director at Veritas Produktion commented, “VMTV are already using Cinegy Type for simple things; titles and logo insertion, the idea though is to use it for full dynamic, automated CG playout. We are very pleased with how this product is helping us to meet the organisation’s goals for expansion with Cinegy.” An additional benefit for VMTV has been the introduction of a new up-to-date look. Cinegy Typehas enabled VMTV to upgrade to a much more modern design while simplifying the effort to get CG on air. From now all CG, from schedules, news, tickers and lower thirds are produced in Cinegy Type and played out to a number of destinations using Cinegy Air HD. VMTV owner Pär Hemström confirms his satisfaction with the recent investment in Cinegy’s automated CG playback. “We are very happy with the potential that Cinegy Type gives VMTV. The automated process and use of templates makes it much easier for a small TV station like ours to operate even complex CG, because only the content, such as text, has to be changed. Anyone can do it.” |
