Cinegy Air Cinegy Air is the latest module of the Cinegy Workflow solution, providing an end-to-end collaborative digital asset management based integrated production and archive solution. From ingest to archive via logging, editing, searching, browsing, Cinegy Workflow provides the integrated media enterprise platform. Now this rounded off with broadcast automation and playout services as well as news integration and web browser options for remote access. Cinegy air is a completely software based system for SD or HD broadcast automation and video serving using standard PC server hardware. Running as a real-time network service based video playout server operated remotely via TCP/IP, Cinegy Air is removing the need for SDI cabling and routing. High availability and fault tolerance is guaranteed by local caching and optional failover slave channels, as well as the benefits of optionally integrating into Cinegy’s digital asset management inventory. As of IBC 2006 Cinegy Air can also be operated standalone without the requirement of being integral part of Cinegy Workflow solution. This provides smaller channels that need a the best of breed broadcast automation and a SD or HD playout server a very inexpensive way to start and the option to add the other Cinegy Workflow functions at a later stage. Cinegy Air was originally commissioned by large commercial broadcasters to replace traditional automation systems and playout servers that were to inflexible and to expensive to operate. Cinegy Air is designed to meet the most demanding real-time requirements in busy control rooms, and can be used to control multiple channels or to plan schedules, program or commercial blocks off-line. Cinegy Air has a fully open architecture supporting all standard video file formats, ranging from Windows Media 9 over DV to 1080i HD MPEG2 long GOP 4:2:2. Cinegy Air is installed and running at many high-profile channels around the world with the number growing daily. Air’s open architecture is one of the many reasons customers like Cinegy. It has an open API, uses TCP/IP RPC calls or MOS protocol for remote control and standard XML as playlist format. A growing number of third party companies have adapted their products to support Cinegy Air and many more in progress of doing so. Cinegy Air News Playout IBC 2006 saw the introduction of Cinegy Air News. This product combines all the advantages of Cinegy Air with MOS protocol support allowing real-time playout list population through any MOS protocol capable news room system such as ENPS, iNEWS, Octopus, NewsWorks or many others. Cinegy Air News integrates fully with Cinegy Workflow and allows real-time playout of any video items without any delay due to video transfer, video transcoding or rendering. The moment a news story with video in it is added to a shows rundown it immediately appears in the Cinegy Air News playlist for that show and can be played to air without delay. A number of international news channels have deployed Cinegy Air News already and use it successfully. |
