When a sequence is moved into Avid, any master clips that are referenced appear to have a duplicate entry created in the Avid bin.

Answer

This is normal behavior. Every time you export an object from Cinegy, a new AAF is generated and imported to Avid. This AAF file contains a description of all the master clips used in that sequence, clipbin or roll. If this AAF file is imported to an Avid bin, all these objects will be displayed by default. Please note that in any case they refer to the same media.
