LAS VEGAS—22 April 2009— At the National Association of Broadcasters Convention, Cinegy (www.cinegy.com) announces that Kanal Türk has selected Cinegy Workflow to serve as the backbone of its broadcast facility in Istanbul. Kanal Türk plans to employ Cinegy Workflow to produce, play out and archive content for its channels Kanal Türk and Bugun Haber, as well as a third channel to be launched later this year. “Kanal Türk was seeking a solution that would allow it to produce, manage and broadcast content in the most efficient and cost effective way possible—and one that can grow as they grow and their asset management needs become more complex,” observed Cinegy Managing Director Daniella Weigner in announcing the agreement. “Cinegy Workflow offers clear advantages over traditional, analog methods for content management with a file-based workflow that is robust, flexible and extensible, and one that, most importantly, has been proven in broadcast environments worldwide.” Cinegy Workflow appealed to Kanal Türk because it is modular and open platform, according to Erkut Göksel Çinar, the company’s Manager of IT and Broadcast Systems. “It is very simple for our staff to use, it is easy to deploy, and it is cost effective,” Çinar said. “It allows us to work in a tapeless production environment. Additionally, it has a quick and powerful search option—something that was very important to us.” Kanal Türk’s Cinegy Workflow environment will include 51 concurrent Cinegy Media Desktop users, 9 ingest stations, 6 play-out stations for each of the company’s three master control rooms. The package also includes ten Cinegy Extreme post-production workstations. “Cinegy Workflow works with more types of media content, than other systems,” observed Çinar. “It supports HD broadcasting and it also supports standard IT hardware, which means it will continue to meet our needs for a long time.” |
