MUNICH — Cinegy’s recently acquired Value-Added Sales Partner, Veritas Produktion, has successfully implemented the first Cinegy project in Sweden. Local TV Channel Västra Mälardalens Television needed a solution to modernize their playout system, and create a path for further expansion of the station. Cinegy Air offered the answer for their immediate playout needs, and provided an opportunity to explore the advanced technology of Cinegy’s digital workflow tools.
Västra Mälardalens Television (VMTV), owned by UNC, United Cameras Television, provides a regional channel delivering local news in the area of Western Mälardalen region in Sweden. With over 50 000 potential viewers per day, and a wealth of current local events and news on air, VMTV is among the largest media channels on the local market. Developments in broadband technology have allowed VMTV to distribute local TV in a simpler and cheaper manner than before, and now Cinegy is opening doors for an increase in production and efficiency without the need for expensive proprietary hardware or specialized training.
Cinegy Air was chosen over competitors’ products due to its merits as a playout solution, such as ability to perform multi-channel playout, but also due to the flexible nature of the wider Cinegy Workflow platform. Cinegy is easily scalable, starting off with one Cinegy Air installation meant VMTV could make begin their modernization and expansion at a rate that was manageable but future proof.
Västra Mälardalen TV went live with Cinegy Air last month and already they are talking about what else they can do with Cinegy. “The more we use Cinegy Air the more possibilities we see.” Comments Pär Hemström, CEO, UNC Television, "It´s easy to understand and operate. We will later also try other parts of the Cinegy Workflow. Our plan is to set up regionalized transmissions and to expand with a web-TV channel.”
Veritas Produktion was able to provide product demonstrations locally in Swedish, making the sales, implementation and support process smooth and straightforward for the VMTV team
