LOS ANGELES—16 June 2009 - IT specialist Cinegy (www.cinegy.com) had an extremely successful show at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas this April. The flexibility and scalability of the Cinegy Workflow appealed to a range of organizations, both large and small across the globe. The decision to expand the Cinegy presence at NAB 2009 was validated by the excellent response from visitors to the Cinegy stand.

“Visitors to our NAB stand were particularly interested in how Cinegy could help them to increase productivity in the most cost effective manner. “Said Daniella Wegner, CEO of Cinegy. “This is not a new concept for Cinegy, we have always focused on providing a flexible solution that is modular and scalable which improves the efficiency of the digital production workflow.”

The overall reduction in the number of attendees at NAB was not noticeable on the Cinegy stand. CEOs of major television stations rubbed shoulders with managers of small corporate media archives, as they crowded around to see Cinegy’s newest version of  its award-winning enterprise media asset management, production and archiving platform, Cinegy Workflow. Cinegy Air Server, a part of the platform’s play-out component, now includes support for Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) streams as live inputs and outputs. This alone can produce significant cost-savings for broadcasters by reducing the need for SDI cables and switchers. Multi-channel features have also been added to allow simultaneous play-out of several channels controlled by a single Cinegy Air Control application.

New features have also been added to Cinegy Web, which allows remote access to Cinegy Workflow. They include a new web client based on Silverlight, Microsoft’s browser plug-in that facilitates audio-video playback, and review-and-approval capability via the web.
In addition Cinegy also gave advance demonstrations of Version 8 of the Cinegy Workflow product range, due to be released later this year at IBC 2009 in Amsterdam.

Cinegy Workflow is an integrated, all-in-one solution for media workgroups. The PC-based platform consists of a suite of tools, applications and open APIs encompassing every aspect of television production including ingest, logging, storyboarding, editing, post production, play-out and media archiving. The platform is entirely based on standard IT hardware and non-proprietary storage technology. It is also modular and scalable; it can be applied to a wide variety of production environments of differing size, scope and purpose. Additionally, it is low cost, easily deployable and simple to use.
