Cinegy Announces Jet Pack

StudioDaily on the announcement of Cinegy JET at IBC 2015.

Cinegy announced Jet Pack, a suite of software-defined television tools aimed at helping users start broadcasting new channels quickly and efficiently.

The Jet Pack features five key pieces of Cinegy software — Air Pro for playout server and automation, Capture Pro for real-time ingest, Multiviewer four-channel video monitoring, Live for mixing and cutting, and Convert for transcoding and batch-processing.

“Jet Pack represents a major step-change in how to economically get a channel on air,” said Cinegy CEO Jan Weigner in a prepared statement. “Now all you need is one Cinegy dongle and an annual subscription to provide a vast range of media management functions, all at a fraction of the cost to which most are accustomed.”

Cinegy will make Jet Pack available for purchase for €4,995, including one year of updates, or by annual subscription for €1,995. Subscription-based users have the option to keep the software up to date with new features at all times.

Jet Pack is being launched at IBC. Cinegy’s Lewis Kirkaldie, the company’s head of product management, will join an IBC panel titled “Cloud with a Chance of Media” in Hall 3 on September 11 at 2 p.m. to highlight the research and development that went into the Jet Pack.
