Cinegy Desktop and Cinegy Cloud Desktop are universal production and management tools that provide real-time access to all media stored in the Cinegy Archive MAM. They provide a powerful suite of tools for logging, searching, simple & advanced editing, and an the ability to import and export media to third-party non-linear editing and playout automation systems.

They also offer tight integration with Cinegy's other products such as Cinegy Capture, Cinegy Convert, Cinegy Traffic, and Cinegy Air playout. 

Cinegy Desktop is a Windows app which runs on standard enterprise IT infrastructure and can be installed on any user’s desktop within a network environment. Deployment can be automated and rights be managed based on existing enterprise user/group privileges. This allows users to collaborate from their standard Windows desktops, without tying up expensive editing bays or requiring expensive workstations. Full system functionality is available from any workplace with network or Internet connectivity.

Cloud Desktop is a zero-install, cross-platform Electron-based thin-client app based on Electron web technologies, as are client apps for Teams, Figma, Slack, Visual Studio Code, Twitch, WhatsApp and tons more. It provides the same capabilities as the Cinegy Desktop app, but can be installed on non-managed client machines outside a managed enterprise environment assuming untrusted access paths like public Internet / Wifi, while maintaining the same level of security. The focus of Cloud Desktop was an identical work experience from home or the field as on the corporate LAN. No VPN connection is required as all the traffic is tunneled through secure HTTPS connections. Cloud Desktop is the ideal client app for cloud based Cinegy Archive MAM installations or for providing controlled, secure access to on-site corporate Cinegy Archive MAM installations a remote workforce.

Access Control and User Rights

Cinegy Desktop & Cloud Desktop identify users via their login and password, which is centrally resolved via existing ADS, LDAP or other enterprise authentication servers. Additional security feature like Two-Factor-Authentication (2FA) are supported.

The user identity determines the access rights, user profile and software features assigned to the individual user. The Desktop user interface mimics standard Windows functionality wherever possible making it intuitive and easy-to-use. The Cinegy Desktop client allows users to access Cinegy Archive MAM via a familiar explorer interface to create, manage and edit items in a central SQL database.

Cinegy Desktop (and Cloud Desktop) offer standard controls for viewing video material, including playback control with a mouse and keyboard, jumping to events and shuffling. A clip can be viewed in different quality levels (high, medium or low) as defined during ingest and depending on user rights.

Metadata Tracking

Cinegy uses the most advanced accumulative metadata collection methods. Ingested video clips automatically inherit information including tape, disk or media reference IDs, cameraman, date, program name, rights, resolution, type, legal information, and production notes. Users can add additional information to a video clip or a section of a clip. The metadata model used can be freely customized by the system administrator without any programming knowledge.

Logging

The logging functionality in Cinegy Desktop can be applied either during or following ingest. In addition to basic logging, more advanced logging is done with the logging plug-in, using dedicated logging templates customized for the specific task and material type. Unique templates can be created for different organizations. The template creation requires no programming skills.

Search

Cinegy Desktop features a sophisticated search engine that can be used to quickly locate required video media and documents, even in very large archives. Users can search and sort content by keywords or metadata values. A simple search delivers results quickly; a federated search adds intranet and Internet access; while an advanced search enables further functionality for more precise results.

Timeline Editing

Combined with Sequence Viewer, the Timeline interface offers many versatile features and functions to make editing in Timeline simple and practical. Cinegy Desktop / Cloud Desktop provides all the required tools:

Newsroom Client

Cinegy Desktop is also a perfect newsroom computer system (NRCS) client offering integrated news oriented tools for story writing, pool and story management, approval workflows, integrated video editing, voice-over recording, and template based graphics. Now all the tools that journalist and program makers need are present inside the Cinegy News solution so that no other third party products are needed:
